I started a Ketogenic diet on April 1st, 2019 when I weighed in at 300 pounds. Today is the 24th of July, 2019. As of this morning I have lost 54 pounds and four pant sizes. Before I started I discussed this with my Primary Care doctor at my Local Veterans Hospital. He had all my numbers in front of him on the computer. The goal of the keto diet is to put the body in a state of ketosis, where the body is starved of carbs and sugar (traditional forms of energy) and has to begin breaking down fat for fuel. Keto dieters are allotted no more than 20-50g of carbs per day, depending on their body weight, height, and lifestyle.
